ORONO — Registration is underway for the University of Maine Junior Winter Clinic, which will be held 4:30-6:30 p.m. on 12 consecutive Saturdays; and its Senior Winter Clinic, which will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. on 12 consecutive Saturdays. Cost is $250 for instruction with UMaine players and coaches.The goal of this clinic is to give each player a high level of individual instruction within a group setting. The Youth Aged Winter Tournament registration has opened up to fill 6-8 available spots.The schedule has been modified to have a nine-week, 10-game schedule played on Sundays. BANGOR — Husson University will hold 15, one-day basketball clinics throughout the school year for boys and girls in grades 3-8. The clinics will focus on skill development such as ballhandling, footwork, shooting, passing, along with other basic skills and concepts. BANGOR — The Bangor Parks and Recreation Department is offering eight weeks of Youth Basketball for children in grades 2-3 and 4-5 with separate boys and girls leagues. BANGOR — The Maine Athletic Club’s Mark LeClerc and retired Maine high school basketball coach Bob Cimbollek are offering a basketball consulting service for players, teams and coaches.The service will offer individual lessons to players on offensive skills and basketball shooting day camps. It also has a segment for basketball lessons that include an Accushot shooting device, a manual on shooting and a one-on-one game. BANGOR — The seventh annual Holiday Face-Off High School Hockey Tournament will take place on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28-29, at Sawyer Arena in Bangor. Sponsored by John Bapst Hockey Boosters, participating teams will include Bangor (both Varsity and JV), Brewer, Camden Hills, Houlton, John Bapst, Old Town/Orono, Presque Isle and Yarmouth. Games will be played 2:30-6 p.m. Friday; and 8 a.m.-7:40 p.m. Saturday. The winning team will receive the silver Holiday Face Off Cup, and an MVP will be chosen. BREWER — Brewer Youth hockey is accepting registrations for its Learn to Skate/Learn to Play Hockey sessions. There will be two, 12-week sessions. Participants can sign up for one session or both. ORONO — The Maine Junior Black Bears will host a TD Bank Partnership to Assist Skaters and Shooters Clinic on Dec. 2, at Alfond Arena. The P.A.S.S. clinic will be conducted by members of Boston Bruins alumni and Bruins Youth Hockey Development Team. The clinic will be open to 50 current MJBB Squirts and Peewee players (ages 9-12), who will receive on-ice instruction as well as a jersey, gift bag and two tickets to the Dec. 13 Bruins game against the Ottawa Senators. TD Bank will donate $1,000 to the MJBB to go toward further development of youth hockey in the greater Bangor area.

ROLLER DERBY

ROCKLAND — Four Rock Coast Rollers skaters will be part of Team Maine competing for the national title in the first State Wars Championships, to be held Nov. 21-23, in in Daytona Beach, Florida. RCR’s Kristen Eckmann (Chain Lynx), Brionna Barton (Hedda Flame), Bethany McNelly-Davis (Hurricane Bethany) and Carolyn Marriner (Vengeful Vegan), who have been with the league for several seasons, have joined forces with 14 other skaters from Bangor, Portland, and Aroostook County.
