CORNISH, Maine — York County sheriff’s deputies are seeking a man who robbed a Subway sandwich shop at gunpoint Thursday night.

The robbery occurred at 8 p.m. at the Subway in the Cornish Shopping Center on Route 25, according to Chief Deputy William King.

The man, a white male in his mid-20’s, entered the store and threatened the clerk with a gun, demanding cash, according to King.

The clerk complied, emptying the register before the robber fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, King said.

York County sheriff’s deputies and state police searched the area but did not locate the suspect. York County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the case further.
