ELLSWORTH, Maine — A now-former employee at a local Dunkin’ Donuts has been summoned on a charge of felony theft after she allegedly stole thousands of dollars from the business.

According to Ellsworth police Detective Dotty Small, Jessica Woodman, 33, of Ellsworth is accused of embezzling $13,693.40 from the doughnut, ice cream and coffee shop, which is located by the Mill Mall on the corner of State Street and Forest Avenue.

Woodman has been charged with Class B theft, which in Maine is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $20,000. She is due to appear in court on Dec. 22, Small said Friday in a prepared release.

The case remains under investigation.
