UNITY, Maine — A Unity man used his hands to choke his girlfriend Sunday afternoon and also hit her with a tablet computer hard enough to break the screen, according to a report from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman, who called police to report the alleged assault against her by 37-year-old Christopher Giggey, had marks on her neck that indicated she had been assaulted, Lt. Jason Trundy said Monday morning.
Deputy Kyle Wasiela and Sgt. Matthew Curtis arrested Giggey without incident, charging him with aggravated domestic assault, domestic violence assault and domestic violence criminal mischief.
He was taken to Waldo County Jail in Belfast, where he remained Monday morning, Trundy said.
