UNITY, Maine — A Unity man who allegedly assaulted both his girlfriend and his stepson Friday night was arrested in connection with the incident.
Mark Lessard, 45, had gotten into an argument with the 18-year-old stepson at about 9:40 p.m., Chief Deputy Jason Trundy of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said Monday. The argument escalated when Lessard allegedly pushed his stepson out of the home. Lessard then put his girlfriend into a headlock, Trundy said.
Deputy Kyle Wasiela and Sgt. James Greeley arrested Lessard and charged him with two counts of Class D domestic violence assault. They also took him to the Waldo County Jail in Belfast, where he was released after posting cash bail of $1,150.
