NAPLES, Maine — A Sebago woman suffered serious injuries Sunday in a two-vehicle accident on Route 302, according to Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies.

Karline Dyment, 20, was waiting to make a left-hand turn in the westbound lane when her Ford Fusion was rear-ended by a Chevy Suburban driven by Kalyn Thompson, 37, of Waterford, according to Chief Deputy Naldo Gagnon.

Dyment’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, Gagnon said.

Dyment was unconscious after the accident but regained consciousness by the time paramedics arrived, according to Gagnon. An 8-year-old girl was in the back of Thompson’s vehicle but neither Thompson nor the child were seriously injured.

The child was strapped in a safety seat, and Dyment’s Ford wound up in a ditch on the other side of the highway, according to Gagnon. Debris from the crash broke the windshield of a Jeep driven by Sharon Plummer, 60, of Raymond, but she was not hurt.

Thompson had a broken ankle while the 8-year-old had scratches to her face. The road was shut down for about 45 minutes.
