WEST GARDINER, Maine — A 16-year-old is lucky to be alive, suffering only minor injuries, after his car snapped a utility pole and flipped over several times on High Street early Sunday, state police said.
The impact of the crash was so violent that it tore the engine from the car, state police said.
The teenager, whom state police did not identify because he is a juvenile, is likely to face charges. He was released to his parents’ custody. He had dropped off a friend shortly before the crash, state police said.
