PORTLAND, Maine — Three people, including a brother-sister duo, were arrested in connection with a burglary ring that spanned three counties, according to state police.

Arrested and charged with burglary and theft are Christopher Michaud, 23, of Limerick, Cole Meserve, 20, of Standish, and Amber Meserve, 21, of Limerick, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

The burglaries occurred in York, Cumberland and Oxford counties over the last two months, McCausland said.

Entry into homes was gained by kicking doors in, and stolen items included over 20 guns, electronics, jewelry, cash, dirt bikes and marijuana, McCausland said.

Police believe the trio were selling the stolen items to purchase drugs.

Search warrants were issued last week, and police searched homes in Limerick and Buxton as well as a self-storage locker in Limerick, McCausland said. Several guns, three dirt bikes and numerous electronic devices were recovered and a large amount of marijuana seized.

Police believe Amber Meserve had her two small children in her vehicle during some of the burglaries, according to McCausland. Charges are pending against a second woman after a large quantity of heroin was found during execution of one of the search warrants.

The trio are being held on $10,000 cash bail at the York County Jail. Several stolen firearms remain unrecovered, and anyone with information on where they may be should call state police in Gray at 657-3030 and ask for Trooper Jeremy Forbes.
