Performances added
BANGOR — Penobscot Theatre Company announced on Dec. 10 that it has added two more performances of “The Wizard of Oz,” which opened Dec. 6 to a sold-out house.
“The phone has been ringing off the hook,” said Box Office Manager Doug Meswarb, “with weekend shows filling especially fast. By adding two shows, we hope no one gets left out in the cold.”
The newly scheduled performances will take place at noon Saturday, Dec. 20, and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28.

UMaine art exhibition
ORONO — Studio art majors at the University of Maine will showcase their work at the department of art’s annual Senior Exhibition that will run through Friday Jan. 16 in Lord Hall Gallery.
“BRICOLAGE” will feature approximately 80 pieces of art in the form of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculptures and ceramics that have been created by 15 students in art professor James Linehan’s studio art capstone class.
The exhibition is run by the student artists who select the artwork; curate the show; frame, matt and hang the pieces; make gallery arrangements and publicize the event.
The gallery is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exhibition is free and open to the public. For information or to request a disability accommodation, call the department of art at 581-3245.
