WARREN, Maine — The identity of a Waldoboro man who was killed in a Friday night car crash has been released.
Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison said 73-year-old Arthur Emanuelson was the victim of the crash. The victim’s daughter was contacted Monday morning.
Emanuelson was driving a 2007 Versa east on Old Augusta Road at 5:30 p.m. and went through a stop sign at the intersection of Route 235, also known as Ridge Road. His compact car was struck by a 2004 Silverado pickup truck heading south on Route 235.
The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m.
The driver of the pickup truck, Edward Matson Jr., 39, of Waldoboro, was taken by ambulance to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. His injuries were minor and he was treated and released from the hospital.
There were no passengers. Seatbelts were used and the airbags on the car had deployed.
Emanuelson was a participant of the Knox County Yellow Dot program. The program has participants place a yellow round sticker on their windshields to alert emergency responders that there is information in their glove compartments alerting them of any medical condition of the person, according to the sheriff’s office.
Lt. Reginald Walker and Deputies Matt Elwell and Nathaniel Jack investigated the crash. Warren Fire and Rescue and Waldoboro Rescue responded to the scene. Rockland Police Sgt Ken Smith assisted in the investigation.
