BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 29-year-old Brunswick man will serve seven years in prison for the gross sexual assault of a 12-year-old.

Cumberland County Superior Court Justice Elizabeth Wheeler sentenced Thomas “T.J.” Harmon to 15 years, all but seven years suspended, and four years probation, for the Class A felony, Brunswick Police Detective Greg Mears confirmed Tuesday.

Brunswick police detectives went to Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick the night of Aug. 22, 2012, after medical staff reported that a 12-year-old patient told them of the assault, Detective Sgt. Martin Rinaldi said previously.

Harmon was arrested in February 2013, and indicted by a grand jury the following month. He was convicted in April 2014 and sentenced in November.
