PATTEN, Maine — Maine State Police are reporting both lanes of Route 11 north of Patten are closed to traffic after a tractor-trailer overturned in heavy snow about 3 p.m.
The truck was hauling lumber, which spilled onto the roadway, according to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland, and no injuries were reported.
Route 11 is closed between Routes 212 and 227, 12 miles north of Patten and is expected to remain closed for several hours into Wednesday evening as the truck is moved and cargo cleared from the roadway, according to McCausland.
Motorists are advised to detour around the accident by way of Route 212, and state police are cautioning motorists road conditions are expected to deteriorate overnight because of falling snow and freezing rain.
