SOUTH PORTLAND — South Portland police arrested a man Saturday wanted in connection with two bank robberies in Massachusetts.

Michael Vangpa, 25, of Lowell, Massachusetts, was arrested as a fugitive from justice on Landry Circle in South Portland around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Vangpa was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.

Vangpa is wanted in connection with two armed bank robberies in Lowell on Dec. 13 and 14. He was found with cash and a small amount of marijuana, police said. The case has been referred to the Cumberland County district attorney’s office for prosecution and extradition to Massachusetts.
