AUGUSTA, Maine — Four people, including a man from the Bronx, were arrested on drug charges Monday after a search warrant was executed at an Augusta apartment.

Robert Hernandez, 24, of the Bronx and Heather Wilkinson, 48, Randy Haskell, 54, and Joshua Carey, 24, all of Augusta, were arrested after drug agents seized 17 grams of crack cocaine, among other contraband, according to Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Hernandez allegedly had been traveling back and forth between Maine and New York in recent months delivering the drugs, which subsequently were sold in Kennebec County, according to McCausland.

In addition to the crack, 2 grams of heroin and $2,700 in suspected drug proceeds were seized, McCausland said. The estimated value of the drugs is $3,000.

Hernandez and Wilkinson both were charged with two counts of trafficking in schedule W drugs, while Wilkinson also is accused of possession of schedule W drugs. Carey was charged with violating his bail and Haskell with possession of schedule W drugs, McCausland said.

Haskell was released on bail from the Augusta Police Department while bail was set at $10,000 for Hernandez and $2,000 for Wilkinson. Carey is being held without bail.

Drug agents were assisted by Augusta police and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
