BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man facing assault and threatening charges made his initial court appearance Friday at the Penobscot Judicial Center.
Patrick Albano, 39, was arrested Thursday, accused of inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl on several occasions and then threatening to kill her if she told on him, according to court documents filed Friday at the Penobscot Judicial Center.
The incidents took place while the girl’s mother was in the hospital, according to affidavits prepared by Bangor police, who investigated complaints brought forward by the teenager, a friend she confided in and the friend’s mother.
In addition to inappropriate touching, Albano is accused of making comments that were sexual in nature to the girl and her friends, court documents said.
As a result of that investigation, Albano was charged with one count each of unlawful sexual contact, unlawful sexual touching, assault and terrorizing.
Albano was released on $2,500 unsecured bail after his court appearance, a Penobscot County Jail official confirmed late Friday afternoon. In addition to the standard release conditions, Albano is barred from contact with his alleged victim and her friend.
Albano’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 4.
