AUBURN, Maine — An Auburn standoff involving an elderly couple ended peacefully Sunday afternoon.

Chickadee Drive was blocked off as Auburn and state police spoke with the elderly couple. Police said the man called 911 and said he and his wife had health issues that he had a gun. Just before 3 p.m., police said the man surrendered.

No shots were fired. The man will be taken to a local hospital, and police plan to charge him with creating a standoff.
