Learn to cross country ski
OLD TOWN — Learn the basics of cross country ski technique 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at Hirundo Wildlife Refuge.
Maine Master Guide and ski instructor Karen Francoeur and Hirundo Wildlife Refuge will offer two cross-country ski clinics for beginner and intermediate skiers.
Learn the art of kick and glide, classic ski technique, how to fall and get up easily, ski control on hills and stopping. Trail information will be provided.
Orono Land Trust member and Hirundo Wildlife Refuge will members receive a 50 percent discount for both clinics.
To become a member of either or both organizations, sign up the day of the ski clinic or visit hirundomaine.org/become -a-member, Penobscot Valley Ski Club members will receive a 20 percent discount. The cost to nonmembers is a $20 donation.
