Game notes: The Black Bears hope to avoid a letdown after grinding out a 58-55 victory at Stony Brook on Saturday, then making the long trek back from Long Island. UMaine has won three in a row and boasts a 7-2 home record this season. The Bearcats have dropped two straight, including Saturday’s 73-68 decision at New Hampshire. Binghamton is 0-9 on the road this season. The Bears’ guards will be tested by the Bearcats’ shifty freshman backcourt duo of Watkins and Sina, but UMaine should be able to use their multifaceted offense to break down a Binghamton defense that has given up a league-high 72.5 ppg.

The Bears were unable to put up much resistance defensively against the Seawolves and struggled with turnovers and poor execution at the offensive end. NJIT had its five-game winning streak snapped in Saturday’s 62-53 loss at Dartmouth. The Highlanders shot 59 percent from the floor in the first meeting and are connected at 37 percent from the 3-point arc.
