BANGOR, Maine — A 55-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle on Outer Hammond Street on Monday night remains in serious condition Tuesday.

The man was identified as Timothy Gotto, a Bangor transient, police Sgt. Tim Cotton said.

The operator of the vehicle, Desiree Pond, 27, of Hermon, was not injured in the accident, according to Cotton.

Gotto, who is being treated for serious injuries at Eastern Maine Medical Center, was struck in the area of 1105 Hammond St., Cotton said.

Bangor police’s Accident Reconstruction Team and the Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the incident.
