ELLSWORTH, Maine — Two men were arrested on Thursday in connection with an investigation into heroin distribution in Hancock County, officials said.

Sheldon Alley, 39, of Eastbrook is facing a charge of aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs while Paul Colbeth, 35, of Sorrento is accused of trafficking in Schedule W drugs, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Cmdr. Peter Arno said.

Early Thursday evening, MDEA investigators, along with Hancock County sheriff’s deputies, Maine State Police and Ellsworth police, executed a search warrant at Alley’s Webb Pond Road home, according to Arno.

During the search, 115 grams of heroin valued at $40,000 was seized, along with $2,200 in drug sale proceeds, a video surveillance system and two firearms, Arno said.

Both men were taken to the Hancock County Jail after their arrests. More charges are possible.
