ETNA, Maine — The drivers of a tractor-trailer and a state plow truck escaped injury Monday after a crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95.
The crash happened at mile 165 in Etna, when tractor-trailer driver Rodney P. Rioux, 66, of New Canada attempted to pass a Maine Department of Transportation plow truck driven by Alfred Washburn, 51, of Hartland, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a news release.
McCausland said that Trooper Brenda Coolen, who handled the crash, reported that the tractor-trailer struck the plow truck, causing it to spin out of control.
The plow truck went off the road and rolled onto its side, Coolen said. The tractor-trailer went off into the median and struck the ledge, she said.
McCausland said the wrecked vehicles would be removed from the roadside on Tuesday.
