AUGUSTA, Maine — A local man is facing multiple charges after a handgun allegedly discharged during an altercation Sunday morning, police said.
Patrick Lappin, 24, is accused of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and reckless conduct, according to Augusta Deputy Chief Jared Mills.
Mills said police were called to the Glenridge Drive apartments around 2:40 a.m.
The deputy chief said Lappin and another man were involved in some sort of physical altercation, and at one point a handgun which Lappin was in possession of discharged. Neither man was injured from the weapon’s discharge.
Lappin was taken to Kennebec County Jail following his arrest.
