GRAY, Maine — Just when Mainers thought they’d had enough snow, forecasters are keeping their eyes on a potential weekend storm, according to the National Weather Service’s Gray forecast center.

While forecasters are currently focused on a system expected to bring a couple of inches of snow across the state Thursday into Friday, the weather service isn’t ruling out several fresh inches of powder over Valentine’s Day weekend.

The most likely timeframe for the system is Saturday and lasting into Sunday, according to the weather service.

The entire state could be affected if the system takes the right path, according to the weather service.
