PORTLAND, Maine — A Harrison man arrested in November for allegedly sexually assaulting a child has been indicted on counts of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact with a child.
Matthew Farrar, 43, was arrested Nov. 5 at Spring Harbor Hospital, where he was an employee at the time. He was charged with gross sexual assault of a child, a charge that was elevated because the child is younger than 12, Capt. Don Goulet of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said at the time.
The Cumberland County grand jury released the two-count indictment earlier this month.
The alleged victim was known to Farrar. According to the indictment, the alleged crime occurred on Oct. 30.
Farrar’s bail was set at $15,000 cash. He has since been released from Cumberland County Jail, according to an official.
