The long-anticipated opening of the Bangor location of Chipotle Mexican Grill is set for Saturday, Feb. 21. Chipotle spokesperson Chris Arnold confirmed the official opening in an email over the weekend.
The new Chipotle location is at 569 Stillwater Ave., near Bangor Mall Cinemas 10 and next door to the newly-opened Vitamin Shoppe. Carol Epstein, a partner in ERG Realty, LLC, which owns the property that includes the theater and its surrounding land, announced back in May 2014 that Chipotle would be moving into a 2,200-square-foot building.
Founded in 1993 by Steve Ellis, who is the corporation’s chairman and chief executive officer, Chipotle specializes in burritos, tacos, burrito bowls and salads made from fresh, high-quality raw ingredients, according to the company’s website.
