Late Monday afternoon the BDN gathered one last time as a company at 491 Main Street to toast to the memories and say goodbye to the iconic building on the corner of Main and Buck streets that has been the official headquarters for the last 60 years.
Saying goodbye is always bittersweet. “This building has seen our progression from the height of a paper-and-ink product to a streamlined digital news organization,” said Todd Benoit, chief operating office for the BDN. “So many people have contributed to the BDN’s success over the years, and their work at 491 Main made the building a special place for staff. We’ll miss it even as we’re excited about moving to the center of Bangor’s downtown.”
Beginning Monday, Feb. 23, customers will be able to stop by the new offices of the BDN at 1 Merchants Plaza in downtown Bangor to conduct business such as making payments, subscribing to products including the Bangor Daily News and Bangor Metro Magazine, placing classified ads and obituary notices or purchasing back copies of our print products. You can also feel free to drop by and say hello!
Lobby hours will be Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. If you have any questions about the move, please contact us at 207-990-8000.
