AUGUSTA, Maine — City police had a busy weekend with several reported arrests, according to Deputy Chief Jared Mills.
The weekend of events included charging Rudger Ellis, 21, of Gardiner with robbing a Rite Aid Pharmacy on North Belfast Avenue on Feb. 7, according to Mills.
Ellis was arrested over the weekend in suspicion of robbing a Rite Aid in Gardiner.
On Saturday night, Heidi Tuggle, 33, of Augusta, was arrested after police located a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Hallowell, according to Mills. Tuggle also allegedly assaulted an officer during his investigation.
Tuggle was charged with assault and operating under the influence by Augusta police and unauthorized use of property by Hallowell police.
Early Sunday morning, Kennebec County sheriff’s deputies were investigating a strong-arm robbery outside Augusta, and two Augusta officers found the suspect’s vehicle at a store in the city, Mills said.
A significant amount of cocaine along with a loaded firearm were found inside the vehicle, and Marktese Ja’Ta Frazier, 25, of Lyman was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and having a loaded firearm in a vehicle, the deputy chief said.
