WISCASSET, Maine — A woman was charged Saturday morning after running a stop sign and crashing into a snowbank on Bath Road.
Mackenzie Riley, 27, of Wiscasset was not injured in the accident, according to Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline.
The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m.
Riley’s Ford was traveling east on Bradford Road and as she approached the Bath Road intersection, she failed to stop at a stop sign and drove across Bath Road and into a snowbank and the Clipper Mart sign, according to Cline.
Riley admitted to an officer that she had been distracted upon going through the stop sign, Cline said. She was charged with distracted driving, failing to stop at a stop sign and operating a vehicle in a reckless manner.
