Men’s health seminar

BANGOR — Eastern Maine Medical Center will hold a free public seminar on men’s health issues at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Spectacular Event Center on Griffin Road.

“We will cover a wide range of men’s health topics, including prostate issues like benign prostatic hyperplasia that can cause incontinence and other problems,” said Dr. William Sturrock, a men’s health consultant at EMMC Urologic Surgery of Maine, in an EMMC press release announcing the seminar. “We will discuss the use of testosterone, how health problems can affect intimacy, and more. Ultimately, we want to help men understand the nonsurgical and surgical treatment options that are out there and to know that there are solutions to their problems.”

The seminar is open to men and women.

“Women are usually very aware of their partner’s health issues,” said Sturrock, in the press release. “In fact, we find that women are often compelled to help their partner take those first steps toward finding a solution. That’s why we encourage women and men to attend the seminar together.”

Dinner and a presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. Registration is required by visiting menshealth.emmc.org or by calling 947-0469.\
