AUBURN, Maine – Wild winds knocked down trees and blew a roof off a home in Auburn just after 6:30 Tuesday night.
Homeowner Tammy Lasko said she was cooking dinner inside when she heard a loud crash and came out to find that part of her metal roof had just blown right off.
Lasko says when she heard the loud crash; she assumed it was a tree that got knocked down. She was stunned to walk outside and discover it was her roof. “I was just surprised. I couldn’t believe the wind was that strong for the metal roof to come off like that. I was just surprised,” Lasko said.
Lasko said she’s nervous more of the roof will blow off. Her insurance company will be there Wednesday to assess the damage.
