SKOWHEGAN, Maine — A Cornville man arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop on Monday on Interstate 295 in Falmouth was arrested again on Wednesday in Skowhegan, according to Somerset County sheriff’s deputies.

As was the case with his Monday arrest, the sequence of events that landed Gregory Strout, 28, behind bars started with a speeding violation.

Strout was pulled over by Deputy David Cole about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday on North Avenue, according to Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi, and Strout had been on bail conditions prohibiting him from possessing drugs.

Five bags of heroin were found during the Wednesday traffic stop, according to Gottardi.

Strout was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule W drug and violating conditions of release.

Strout’s prior arrest started with a traffic stop for speeding on I-295 on Monday.

After he was pulled over, a state trooper allegedly found a large quantity of drugs, including five bags of heroin and 82 hypodermic needles, in the vehicle.

Strout is being held without bail at the Somerset County Jail.
