THOMASTON, Maine — A 48-year-old Rockland man apparently was electrocuted Saturday, according to Thomaston police.
Christie Williams reportedly had been welding in the back of a Jeep outside a Pleasant Street residence before he was found dead by his girlfriend. The woman called 911 shortly before 4 p.m.
Thomaston police Officer Michael Blais said the equipment was plugged into an extension cord, but it was unclear if that was a factor in the death.
Police Chief Kevin Haj said the victim was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
An autopsy was performed on Williams Monday at the Maine medical examiner’s office. Further studies are underway to determine the cause of death, according to a department spokesman.
