BANGOR, Maine — Bail was set at $25,000 Friday for a Corinna man arrested earlier this week on eight warrants for sex crimes, a Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office official said.

Frank Johnson, 37, was ordered not to have contact with his victim or any witnesses connected to his case, according to Assistant District Attorney Marianne Lynch.

Lynch said that Johnson was arrested at his home without incident on Wednesday after a Penobscot County grand jury indictment against him was unsealed.

Johnson is charged with four counts of gross sexual assault, three counts of unlawful sexual contact and the other for sexual abuse of a minor, Chief Deputy William Sheehan of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.

Lynch said that Johnson did not enter a plea during Friday’s appearance at the Penobscot Judicial Center but that he likely will do so during a dispositional hearing scheduled for May 12.
