NEWPORT, Maine — Local police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman and a man suspected of robbing the Rite Aid pharmacy separately on March 22 and March 31.

Police Chief Leonard Macdaid said it has not been determined whether the robberies are related.

The first robbery was about 9 a.m. Sunday, March 22, Macdaid said Tuesday night. The woman allegedly went to the pharmacy and handed the employee a note demanding narcotics. She did not display a weapon, the chief said.

About 4 p.m. Tuesday, a male handed a note to a pharmacy worker demanding narcotics, Macdaid said. He also did not display a weapon.

The woman was described a white woman about 5 feet, 4 inches tall with a medium build, brown hair and blue eyes. She was wearing black ski pants, a green or teal hooded jacket and a green Dysart’s watch cap.

The police chief described the male suspect as about 5 feet, 4 inches tall with a slender build and a light-colored beard and mustache. He was wearing brown pants, a dark blue jacket, gray-and-blue gloves and a Red Sox baseball cap.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call Macdaid or Officer Joshua Gunn at 368-3263.
