NEWPORT, Maine — A man has been arrested in connection with a Tuesday robbery at Rite Aid Pharmacy, according to police.
Newport Police Chief Leonard MacDaid said James Senior, 39, was taken into custody early Wednesday afternoon.
Senior is charged with robbery, a Class B felony, MacDaid said, and is being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
“We’d like to thank the citizens [of Newport] for giving us information. Without their help, we wouldn’t be where we are right now,” MacDaid said.
Tuesday’s robbery at Rite Aid marked the second in just over a week, as the drugstore also was robbed on March 22.
Police are seeking a woman in connection with the Sunday robbery. Weapons were reportedly not displayed in either robbery.
