NEW CANADA – Therese (Martin) Pelletier, died peacefully April 7, 2015, at Forest Hill Manor, Fort Kent, after a short illness. She was born May 24, 1928, in New Canada, the daughter of Ligorie and Lilianne (Boutote) Martin.
She married Lawrence Pelletier on November 24, 1948 and together, for 62 years, they raised 10 children. She was a lifelong communicant of Holy Family Parish in Daigle until its closure in 2000, then becoming a communicant of St. John Vianney Parish in Fort Kent. She was employed by Northern Maine Medical Center for 25 years, until her retirement. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Labonte of Cartersville, GA, Arnold Wilmer Pelletier and his wife, Betty of Eagle Lake, ME, Carroll Pelletier of Bristol, CT, Rodney Pelletier and his wife, Diane of New Canada, ME, Jean Theriault and her husband, Bill of Sinclair, ME, Lisa Bouchard and her fiancée, Gerry Saucier of Cape Coral, FL, and Sandra Pinette and her husband, Peter of Fort Kent, ME. Surviving her are 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Kathleen Nadeau of Caribou, ME, Wilfrieda Pelletier of Eagle Lake, ME and Mary Esther Clavette of Buxton, ME; five brothers, Robert Martin of Newington, CT, John Martin and friend, Leona Olmstead of Winterville Plt., ME, Alfred Martin and wife, Jackie of Southington, CT, Tommy Martin and wife, Evelyn of Southington, CT, and Maxim Reynold Martin and wife, Nancy of Eagle Lake, ME; a special sister-in-law, Rella (Pelletier) Daigle of Fort Kent, ME. She was predeceased by her husband on June 5, 2011; three children, Eldon Pelletier, 1/15/1953, Kathy Pelletier Voisine, 6/4/1988, and Donald Pelletier, 12/4/1997, and two grandsons, Michael and Adam Pelletier. She was also predeceased by her parents; five brothers, Terry, James, Donald, Joseph, and Clarence Martin, and three sisters, Edwina Martin, Beverly Ann (Leo) Plourde, and Linda (Ernest) Blanchette; son-in-law, Richard Labonte; and daughter-in-law, Corinne Pelletier.
Friends may call at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent, Frida,y April 10, from 6;00-8;00 PM and Saturday, April 11 from 8:00-9:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 11 at 10 AM at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be held on May 12, 2015, at Holy Family Cemetery, Daigle.
