AUGUSTA, Maine — Police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store Saturday morning.
The robbery at the Cumberland Farms on Mount Vernon Avenue was reported shortly before 6:30 a.m. to the Augusta Police Department, according to a news release posted by the department on its Facebook page.
According to the police, a man described as weighing between 150 and 180 pounds, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, light colored jeans, work boots and gloves entered the store and demanded money. The suspect had most of his face covered with a bandana.
The male fled the store on foot after receiving money and was tracked with the use of a Maine State Police dog east on Bond Street. The track and subsequent search by detectives and officers resulted in the recovery of several pieces of evidence in connection with the robbery, according to police.
No weapon was displayed and one was injured during the incident.
