ROCKPORT, Maine — Local voters may have a contested race to resolve when they go to the polls June 9.

Three people have taken out nomination papers for two seats on the Select Board. Incumbent Kenneth McKinley, Owen Casas and John Viehman have taken out papers but have yet to return them.

The deadline for filing papers at the town office is April 24.

The other incumbent, Charlton Ames, said earlier this year he would not seek another term.

Incumbent school board member Marcia Dietrich has taken out papers for another term on School Administrative District 28 and Five-Town Community School District boards. She is the only candidate thus far for the one seat.

Three incumbents are looking to get back on the budget committee. Betsy Saltonstall, Peter Johnson and Helen Shaw have taken out papers with Shaw and Saltonstall returning them.

Stephanie Lash and Emily Lusher have returned papers for two seats on the library committee.
