BANGOR, Maine — Six people were arrested early Sunday morning after a large quantity of drugs was found in a sport utility vehicle during a traffic stop, according to police.

At about 1 a.m., the SUV jumped a concrete island on Hammond Street and nearly struck Officer David Farrar’s cruiser, according to Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton.

Frederick Day, 33, of Hermon; Brianna Graves, 31, of Hermon; Eric Junkins, 39, of Dedham; and Sara Kearns, 32, Daniel Reed, 45, and Sheena Rolfe, 30, all of Bangor, were arrested.

Inside the vehicle, police found bath salts, heroin, Suboxone, scales, needles, burned spoons, crack cocaine, marijuana and Ritalin, the sergeant said.

Day was charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs. Graves was charged with unlawful possession of hydrocodone, illegal possession of a hypodermic apparatus and violating conditions of release. Junkins was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of hydrocodone and violating conditions of release. Kearns was charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and violating conditions of release. Reed was charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, and Rolfe was charged with illegal possession of a hypodermic apparatus and violating conditions of release.

All six were taken to the Penobscot County Jail after their arrests.
