Game notes: It is again tune-up time for the Black Bears, who dropped two of three at Maryland Baltimore County over the weekend and have lost three of their last four. UMaine, which is last in the America East standings, is gearing up for a busy stretch of five nonleague games in four days beginning Thursday at Lafayette. The Bears close out the spring with two crucial series against Binghamton and Albany. The Beavers are battling with Lyndon State to earn one of four playoff spots in the North Atlantic Conference, but won’t know their fate until completion of play on Tuesday, when the Hornets play a doubleheader against Colby-Sawyer. UMF had dropped six consecutive league contests prior to a 7-1 win over Colby-Sawyer in the second game of a Monday doubleheader in New Hampshire.
