HERMON, Maine — Residents will fill expiring Town Council and school board seats in local elections on June 9, Town Clerk Ruth Nickerson said Tuesday.

Up for grabs are the council seats now held by Donald Pelletier and Douglas Sinclair, both of whom are seeking re-election for another three years. They are being challenged by Steve Thomas.

Candidates for two openings on the school board are incumbent Debora Farnham and Teddy Harris. Chris Patten, whose seat also is expiring, is not running for another term.

Residents also will vote on whether they wish to validate the school budget, which is up for approval during a meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. May 27 in the Hermon Middle School gym.

The polls will be open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. June 9 in the Hermon Elementary School gym.

The annual town meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. June 11 in the Hermon High School auditorium.
