WINSLOW, Maine — A mother is accused of pretending to be her daughter when a cop pulled her over, and police say the daughter in turn pretended to be her mother.

Winslow police stopped 49-year-old Donna Heath-McGrath of Canaan last month for driving with a suspended registration.

Police say she told the officer that she didn’t have her license on her, then gave the officer her daughter’s information as her own.

Police say Heath-McGrath also had outstanding warrants for her arrest, and her 27-year-old daughter, Kristin Pelotte of Winslow, didn’t want her mother to get into any more trouble.

So, police say, Pelotte went to the police station and pretended to be her mother. Both are facing charges, including criminal conspiracy.
