PORTLAND, Maine — Police are hunting a man who held up a Brighton Avenue credit union at gunpoint Thursday afternoon, according to a statement from Portland police.
The statement said a lone man displayed a handgun and demanded cash at University Credit Union.
Police were called to the area shortly before 3 p.m., and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No employees or customers were injured.
The suspect, an African-American male, stands between 5-feet-8 and 5-feet-10 inches tall, was wearing what appeared to be a fake mustache, sunglasses, a North Face jacket with a hood, pants, sneakers, gloves and a baseball cap with white letters, the statement said.
The robber was last seen fleeing down Taft Avenue.
