Art silent auction
BANGOR — A silent auction of painted chairs, prints and assorted artwork donated by artists and artisans will be held May 30-June 5, at the Rock and Art Shop, 36 Central St., to benefit a Bangor High School art scholarship.
The works will be on display at the shop during that period. The auction will close at 8 p.m. Friday, June 5. Winners should plan to pay by cash or check, and pick up their winnings 8-9 p.m. June 5, at the shop.

‘Season of Love’ concert
BREWER — The New Renaissance Singers will hold “Seasons of Love,” its spring choral concert at 7 p.m. Friday, May 29, at First Congregational Church of Brewer, 35 Church St.
The concert will feature songs about love from the truest romance to the loudest fight, and the hardest goodbyes.
The program will include “Nelly Bly” by Stephen Foster, the Shaker song “Simple Gifts” by Copland, “Omnia Sol” by Z Randall Stroope and Billy Joel’s “And So It Goes” arranged by Bob Chilcott.
The first half of the concert will culminates with a musical argument, and the show with “Seasons of Love” from “Rent.”
Admission to the concert is $10 at the door. A portion of concert proceeds will benefit the chorus’s Music Education Fund for a Maine Summer Youth Music program scholarship.
Artsapalooza
ORONO — Stillwater Artsapalooza is a festival of performing and visual arts that involves more than 50 local artists. It will take place 6-10 p.m. Saturday, June 20, in downtown Orono. Artists will perform at various downtown Orono venues including the Church of Universal Fellowship, The Store, Verve, The Family Dog, Harvest Moon, The Roost, Bear Brew Pub, Pat’s Pizza, Black Bear Brewery, Orono Public Library, Orono Fire Station, Keith Anderson Community Center and the University of Credit Union plaza. Admission is free.
Artists featured at this event will include Bangor Story Slam, The Artesani Family and Friends, The Art Bottie Trio, Paige and Brooke, Manakosher, Riot Sound, Orono High School Jazz Band, Velma, The Six Basin All Women Dixieland Band, Stillwater Community Arts Young Artists: Paige Bacon, Brooke Nason, Byron Graves, Lydia Bolin and Daniel Perkins, Paradigm Blue, Jim Chasse, Sanford Phippen, Travis Baker and many more.

Music camp scholarships
ORRINGTON — The Gifts of Music has summer music camp scholarships available. The organization, founded in 2010, works to support music education for Maine youth by providing instruments, scholarships and grants.
Application deadline is Friday, May 22. A volunteer committee will review applications. Scholarship awards announced in June and sent directly to the music camp of the student’s choice.
