Terren Hall was named Husson University’s head softball coach Monday after serving this past season as interim coach and leading the team to a berth in the NCAA Division III tourney.
“We are pleased to remove the interim tag from Terren’s title. She accomplished all of the achievements we expect from our softball program at Husson,” Husson Director of Athletics Frank Pergolizzi said in a news release. “We look forward to continued success under her leadership.”
Hall, a former University of Maine standout, guided the Eagles of Bangor to a 28-13 record and seventh straight North Atlantic Conference title. The Eagles went on to play in the NCAA regional championship round for the first time.
“I am deeply honored to be Husson University’s new head softball coach and continue to build on the success and traditions of the program,” said Hall, the 13th head coach of the program.
“I am very thankful that the search committee has given me this great opportunity to be a part of the Husson athletics family, and I look forward to getting started,” she added.
Hall also will serve as the department’s director of NCAA compliance.
Hall, who is a Bucksport native, replaced Kristie Hawkins, who left Husson in December after one season to accept a job outside collegiate athletics.
At UMaine, Hall earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and physical education with a minor in business administration. The third baseman was a two-time America East All-Conference pick
She set UMaine records for home runs by a freshman (9), RBIs in a season (53), career home runs (35), career doubles (43) and consecutive games played (204).
