HAMPDEN, Maine — A Department of Transportation dump truck rolled over on the Back Winterport Road on Tuesday morning, according to police.

The accident occurred shortly before 9 a.m., according to Hampden police Officer Jeff Rice. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver, whose name was not disclosed, was hauling a mix of gravel rocks, which Rice said spilled into a ditch but not the roadway. The driver suffered minor injuries.

Rice said the driver was fortunate to not have been seriously injured.

Maine State Police, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Environmental Protection and Hampden police and fire responded to the scene. Rice said DEP crews responded due oil and fuel in the roadway.
