ROCKLAND, Maine — A Rockland boat shop has asked a federal court to seize a yacht, saying the owner has failed to pay for nearly $64,000 in work.
York Marine Inc. filed its lawsuit Monday in U.S. District Court in Portland against John Wilson of Denver, Colorado.
The lawsuit claims that York Marine performed $63,828 in repairs and outfitting on the 36-foot motor yacht Intrepid. York Marine both builds custom yachts and repairs vessels.
York is asking the court to have the vessel seized and then sold with the proceeds going to the company. The Intrepid is located in Maine, according to the suit.
Federal courts have jurisdiction over maritime disputes. He is represented by attorney Nicholas Walsh of Portland.
Wilson could not be reached for comment Thursday.
