Twin City Riot, the semi-professional football team for the Bangor-Brewer region, has been playing in the New England Football League for the past two years. Comprising everyone from former high school and college players to general enthusiasts for the game, semi-pro football offers a chance to play full-contact, amateur football in a controlled, organized and structured environment at various levels of skill, with opportunities to play for adult men of all talents and backgrounds.
Now entering its second year playing in the NEFL, Twin City Riot is looking for donations to help with its upcoming silent auction and spaghetti dinner, the funds raised from which will help the team continue to play locally, including field rentals, EMTs services, promotional materials and concessions and other basic needs. The auction and dinner is set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Seasons on Main Street in Bangor.
Donations may include anything from gift certificates or cash to specific items or offerings, and amy be sent to Twin City Riot executive director Kristen Wallace by calling 299-4434 or emailing kristenwallace74@gmail.com.
Twin City Riot plays at Hampden Academy during the season, which begins for 2015 in mid-summer and stretches through the fall. The team plays at the A level, against other New England A level teams such as the Mid-Coast Falcons of Knox County, the Connecticut Gamblers of Tolland, Connecticut, the Vermont Ravens of Northfield, Vermont, and the Monadnock Marauders of Keene, New Hampshire.
