OXFORD, Maine — According to the Oxford Fire Department, a construction worker fell 25 feet and landed on concrete at a water treatment plant currently being built.

The incident happened Tuesday morning.

Officials say the worker was conscious and alert but was taken to Central Maine Medical Center.

The Poland Fire Department assisted by sharing its heavy rescue equipment. A saw was used to cut through metal walls to get to the man, and a crane with ropes was used to extricate him.

The scene was cleared by 11 a.m.

OSHA is currently investigating.
