NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — A man is facing a weapons charge after allegedly firing a gun at an all-terrain vehicle rider, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Mark Leighton, 58, of New Gloucester is accused of reckless conduct with a firearm, according to a department statement.

The incident was reported shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday when the ATV driver reported Leighton fired a gun at him while riding, according to the statement.

A firearm was seized after Leighton was arrested.

Leighton was released on $160 bail from the Cumberland County Jail.
